Domestic energy consumption in Pakistan accounts for around 45% of the total energy consumption. This significant consumption leads to a high foreign exchange outflow, as Pakistan imports fossil fuels to meet its energy needs. As a result, domestic consumers face hefty energy bills, leaving them with limited funds for other essential areas such as quality education, healthcare, and recreation.
The frequent energy shortages, including load-shedding and power outages, further highlight the need for energy conservation. BEES aims to address these socio-economic challenges by offering scientific solutions that can reduce the need for fuel imports, alleviate the financial burden on households, and allow families to spend more on education, health, and recreation. Energy efficiency can also reduce power outages, which in turn improves the overall quality of life for the people.
